A hospital in Gombe State has appealed to the public for help in identifying and locating the relatives of a victim involved in a hit-and-run accident who remains unclaimed days after being admitted for treatment.
According to hospital officials, the unidentified individual was brought to the medical facility by concerned residents after sustaining injuries in the road accident. Despite efforts to gather information about the victim's identity, no family member or acquaintance has come forward.
The hospital said the patient is receiving medical attention but stressed the importance of locating relatives who can provide personal details, assist with treatment decisions, and offer support during recovery.
Authorities have urged members of the public, especially those with missing relatives or knowledge of the incident, to contact the hospital or relevant security agencies. Details of the victim have reportedly been shared through local channels in an effort to reach family members.
Road safety officials also used the opportunity to remind motorists to exercise caution on the roads and to stop and render assistance when accidents occur, rather than fleeing the scene.
