Kaduna Govt Invests Over ?1bn On Students’ Scholarship, Welfare

The Kaduna State Government has announced that it has invested more than ?1 billion in scholarship programmes and student welfare initiatives as part of efforts to improve access to quality education and support academic excellence across the state.

State officials disclosed that the funding was directed toward the payment of scholarships for indigent students, sponsorship of tertiary education beneficiaries, and various welfare programmes designed to ease the financial burden on students and their families.

According to the government, the investment reflects its commitment to human capital development and ensuring that talented students are not denied educational opportunities due to economic challenges. The administration noted that education remains a key pillar of its development agenda.

The scholarship scheme reportedly covers students studying in universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and other accredited institutions within and outside the state.
