Remi Tinubu Donates N100m to Kogi, Says Initiative Funded by Donations

Nigeria's First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has donated N100 million to support vulnerable groups in Kogi State, emphasizing that the intervention was made possible through contributions from donors rather than government funds.

The donation was announced during an official visit to the state, where the First Lady also commissioned the newly completed Treasury House and participated in empowerment programmes aimed at improving the livelihoods of women and other vulnerable residents.

Speaking at the event, Tinubu explained that the financial support was provided through her humanitarian initiative, noting that the programme relies on donations from individuals and organizations committed to improving the welfare of Nigerians.

She reaffirmed her commitment to empowering women, youths, and disadvantaged communities across the country through sustainable programmes focused on economic inclusion, healthcare, education, and social development.

The First Lady urged beneficiaries to make productive use of the support provided, expressing confidence that it would help strengthen small businesses, improve household incomes, and contribute to community development.

Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo commended the First Lady for her continued support for vulnerable Nigerians, describing the intervention as timely and impactful. He noted that the donation would complement the state government's efforts to improve the welfare of residents.

Community leaders, women's groups, and beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the gesture, saying the assistance would provide relief to many families facing economic challenges.

The event also highlighted the importance of collaboration between government, private organizations, and philanthropic initiatives in addressing poverty and promoting inclusive development across Nigeria.
